The clear white light produced from xenon is close to that of daylight so traffic signs, produces less glare and road markings light up clearer, better than conventional lighting. LEDs can be anywhere from 1.5-5 times more efficient than HID, but the designs limit that benefit to the point that comparable LED headlights use 25-30W compared to the standard 35W HID bulbs. More durable than sealed incandescent beams, halogen bulbs produced a brighter, better quality of light. Anyone who’s built a PC knows you need a serious heat sink and cooling fan to handle 25-50 watts of continuous power. Humans are inadequately equipped to see at night or in poor weather conditions. General Electric invented halogen bulbs in 1892, and Italian automobile manufacturers started using them in the 1960s. The risk of having an accident at night is about twice as high as during the day - despite the fact that there is less traffic on the road. This isn’t surprising because an HID headlight produces 3000-5000 lumens while LED produces double. Hence, it’s safer and easier to avoid potential danger. HID bulbs differ from halogen bulbs in that the electrical arc travels through gas instead of moving through a tungsten filament. Contrastingly, HID and LED produce much brighter lights. The color temperature of the HID lights is more than 5000Kelvin compared to the 2300 Kelvin Halogen bulbs.
